Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump addressed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to assist law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of her previous school, told the media. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to assist people.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Policy Adjustments

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the government to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with the family.

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
