Canada's MLB team reached their first Fall Classic since 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the seventh game seven of the American League Championship Series.

Behind by two runs, Springer smashed a three-run home run in the seventh inning, propelling the only Canadian franchise in MLB to a 4-3 triumph in the best-of-seven series. Next up are the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.

"It's incredible for our team, our city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "It's truly an amazing experience."

George Springer has now slugged 23 total playoff homers, making him third on the list behind Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I'd choose in that moment besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

Seattle, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Wilson commented "there's no question that it's painful" following his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but applauded their efforts this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we finished on the wrong side of this one," he remarked.

Toronto claimed the championship on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and will welcome the Dodgers in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
